Jan Schmietendorf teaches a modern practice of reading and the use of libraries at Gesamtschule an der Burgweide.
BFGF designed the Lesehund (reading dog) pro bono. It’s a mobile bookshelf for schools, that puts books where they are needed.
The DIY-tutorial to built it can be downloaded free of charge. For those without technical means to get the material or build it themselves it can be ordered as a construction kit or even assembled.
In 2008 the project won a price from the reading festival „Seiteneinsteiger“ in Hamburg.
